A New Season. A New Rhythm.

A New Season. A New Rhythm.

There’s always something about the first day of a new season that makes me stop and breathe a little deeper. Fall is here. The air feels different, a little crisper in the morning, a little softer at night. The trees haven’t fully turned yet, but you can feel the shift coming.

I’ve always loved how fall invites us to slow down. It’s like the world is whispering, “you don’t have to carry it all, let some things go.” The leaves fall, the light changes, and suddenly it feels like permission to reset. For me, that means thinking about the life I actually want to live, one that feels intentional, soulful, and rooted in the things that matter most.

During this change of the season, I also use the time to refresh old things that I love, like the bench on my porch. We’ve had it for a while, and I have no intentions of giving it up. This year I cleaned it up, removed all the dirt, grime, and even the spider webs that had claimed it over the summer. After letting it dry, I gave it a new coat of Behr satin spray paint to keep its original charm alive. It felt good to bring new life to something that’s been part of our home for so long.

Once the bench was refreshed, I added cozy outdoor pillows, my favorite fall decor, and a few fresh mums. Pumpkins and gourds bring in that texture I love and make the space feel warm and welcoming. Honestly, I always imagine homes like this are the ones that give out full-size candy bars on Halloween. 🥰

So here’s to the first day of fall. To cozy dinners, slow mornings, and living with intention. To making small shifts that add up to the life you want. To refreshing the old and welcoming the new.
